WELCOME to the Beads-of-Clay....

LIVE Open Studio Event....

I'm thrilled to be a part of this....  I am sure that it will be even more fun than I had during the last studio event.  There are lots of giveaways, sales and more....

My name is MaryAnn Carroll.  I've been a ceramic bead artist for a few years now and have been selling for two of those years.  Last summer, I was becoming overwhelmed with keeping up with sales... which of course, is a good thing, but was stressful at another level.  Fortunately, I have a very creative son Ben, who is now the main clay artist.  He prepares them for me and I do the glazing and listing.  It works out great for both of us.

By day, I'm a middle school special education resource teacher.  I'm also the mother of 3 grown children, a wife of my husband Bill (a potter and art teacher), a Nonnie to three beautiful grandchilren ages 4 months to 3.5 years (they are gorgeous!), a sister, an aunt and of course, a friend to many...  I'm fortunate to have many friends in my personal life as well as the many that I have met through Etsy and blogs.

So that you have time to get from blog to blog and get to know the other artists, I will end my intro with some pictures of some of my favorite beads....  Thanks for stopping by!

I love that you and your son create these together. And that some of them make it into Bill's firings in addition to your regular firings. I'm not going to rush to say I can't wait for mine to get to the point of working with me at those levels - but really, I foresee those times as fun times. Chloe is already quite the underglaze painter… :)

That's so great that you and your son work together... I sometimes call my girls my future sweat shop workers :-) .... they're not buying it so much. My favorite is the blue one with different directions for the holes.
